wallpaper blues

We are updating some of the decor in our house. Mostly removing wallpaper...ahhhhh! I has been a nightmare! The paper hasn't been changed since the home was built and the lazy builders papered right over the drywall, which basically means that the paper in bonded at an atomic level. We are almost done just one little bit of a corner left to do, some sanding and a bit of repair to some scraper damage(wet drywall will rip) and then we can paint and be DONE!!!
At least with the entry ;)

James doesn't like things on his hands, or apparently feet, and kept sitting and picking wallpaper bits off his feet and putting them in the trash. A pattern is forming...OCD anyone....? He is definitely taking after his father ;)

The freeze out of '09...

The heater went out in the night and we woke up to a freezing house! James and I huddled for warmth using our trusty heating pads, double layer socks and blankies...which makes me think of investing in a portable heater! James also had some nice warm milk and honey! Jon and his dad did fix it by the end of the day so we were warm and toasty by bedtime. :)
How CUTE is this picture!!

3-D Sidewalk chalk

Very cool, very fun and it really works!

Leaves

I tried to get a cute picture of James playing in the leaves and smiling happily at the camera....but it didn't work out that way. He totally ignored me. Once the leaf hysteria struck i might as well have been invisible.
It was so funny! He was so focused on piling them, and crunching them. I finally tried to get him to look up and smile by asking if he wanted cookies and the only thing that did was make him want cookies. haha!

Outdoor Dude...

Catching some naked rays with Mumzy!

James and I sat out and ate a picnic snack while watching Jonathan mow the lawn. Then James caught a ride around the house when he was done. :)
Which I have a video of, but I waffled over posting it...I didn't know if it would get a hundred calls about his safety like after the cat flap posting....Let me know if anyone wants to see the video and I will post it. ;)

Ice cream at the Palace

Nashville Trip!

Mom and Dad were here a week and we took a day trip over to Nashville. We had a little trouble finding all the Nashville fun, seeing as our two "great ideas" didn't work out... but we ended up having a great time! James saw Elvis and Mom and I had to buy a coke at the Doc Holliday Pub so we could use their bathroom, so I guess that makes the trip a winner! ;)

Little Table

We bought James a little table. It was unfinished so we got a great deal and James just loves it! He was very unhappy the couple of days that he couldn't use it because I was painting it, but now he eats his snacks and colors at his table!
One funny thing is that he loves to climb on and off the bench and sometimes gets all the way up on the table top, but he can't get down. I watch him panic a little and try to figure out how to get down until he finally remembers me and signs the word down. It's funny....is that mean...? ;)hehe

Watching football

The boys watching a Colts games and "drinking".
James just loves spending time with Jonathan. He follows Jon around the house and loves wrestling on the couch! I love that they are already so close :)

Family Update:

We are getting settled in here in Alabama, even though we are still house hunting! Last week we did find a home that we like and are putting in an offer ASAP! So maybe after 2 failed attempts to buy a house, this one will pull through! I am sure that I will be posting picture as soon as we know! Then of course you will all get a blow-by-blow of all the updates I have planned, hehe!*evil laugh*

Jonathan has finally started back up with his MBA classes, and will be having a meeting at church week after next. He is very excited about all the work that he is getting to do here!

I am preparing for all the family visits that we are expecting over the next few weeks. Gigi and Pawpaw, and then Mom and Dad for a whole week. :)

We are also planning for our Halloween Party which is sure to be the best one yet...and yes those picture will be posted too! James is going as a toy soldier, I am a sugarplum fairy and Jonathan (because he refused to be a nutcracker!) will be the crazy haired conductor of the Nutcracker :)

Finger painting

More accurately it is hand-face-feet-booty painting! He seemed to get into it as soon as he realized that the toy was the paint not the tub of paint!

Chuck E Cheese

We went to chuck e cheese on Monday with some friends from church and their kids. James is big buddies with their two boys and the boys just love Jonathan. James played the games (or tried to) and we had enough tickets in the end to get a blow up hammer and a blue crazy straw! I can't believe we are the parents a chuck e cheese already!

Park Day

We went to the greatest park! It was more of a reserve than a park, it was huge and very fun. We got to see turtles and fish and run in the grass! So by James's standards it was a winner!

Watermelon Festival

We went to the watermelon festival last weekend and though there was no watermelon to be found, at least by us, we had a really great time. There were really cool cars(it should really be the Car Festival!) and carnival foods :)
Though it was hot and we all got a little sweaty, a good time was had by one and all!
